THE EPIPHANY

The reason there are so many books written and movies made about Jesus Christ and the Gospels is because they are a very profound piece of the world’s history starting with the creation (the book of Genesis) when God created the world, man and woman and all that is in it. So it is fitting that we celebrate the manifestation of the Word made Flesh, JESUS CHRIST.
EPIPHANY, as it is called, appearance, manifestation is the Christian feast day which celebrates the revelation of God in human form in the person of Jesus Christ. It falls on January 6 or on a Sunday close to that date.
This year, 2010 the feast is on Sunday, January 3—
As its name suggests, the EPIPHANY had its origin in the Eastern Church and throughout is addressed to one about to be baptized, and deals only with the Sacrament of Baptism. In the Western Church it celebrates the appearance of the incarnation of the Word made Flesh.
On this day, THE EPIPHANY Western Christians commemorate principally the visitation of the Biblical Magi to the Child Jesus, his manifestation to the Gentiles
It is certain that the Epiphany Festival in the East very early on admitted a marked commemoration of the Word made Flesh, the Nativity, the most striking manifestation of Christ's glory.
In the Incarnation, the birth of Jesus Christ as traditionally defined; the divine nature of the Son was joined but not mixed with human nature in one divine person, who was both "truly God and truly man". The Incarnation is commemorated and celebrated each year at Christmas, this is central to the traditional faith held by most Christians.
It is this JESUS, GOD in human form, who takes away the sins of the world, made the blind see, the lame walk and the dumb speak and Who for the sinners of the world gave His body and blood, THE EUCHARIST without which the Church would not be?.

CHURCH ARCHITECTURE AND SCULPTURE

I recently attended a mass in a round church. This prompted me to review my notes on the church designs of the past. The Mass in this church seems to have a lot of wasted movements because of how the elements are laid out.
We are not ferociously critical but we are conscious of the Faithfull’s needs for prayer and participation at Mass.
Roughly speaking, all ecclesiastical architecture may be said to have been evolved from two distinct designs, the oblong and the circular chamber as one.
Now to build a church for the admiration of "the man on the street", who sees it from outside, or for the tourist who pays it a passing visit, or for the artist, or for anyone else whatsoever except that of the faithful who use the church for prayer, the hearing of Mass, and the reception of the sacraments, is to commit a breach of decorum in the liturgy and of all the arts.
A church is, primarily, a building intended for the purpose of public worship; and ecclesiastical architecture for this purpose should be altogether paramount
Even the needs of the liturgy itself are in a sense subsidiary to the needs of the faithful. On the other hand, the needs of the faithful must be reckoned, under normal circumstances, the adequate carrying out of the liturgy.
The best definition of architecture that has ever been given is likewise the shortest. It is "the art of building”..
And with this in mind we will explore these concerns over the next few post-

MERRY CHRISTMAS

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Artists create images from impulses and love.
God created the world and all that is in it in the same way in particular
humanity and its resources for survival.
The creation and birth of His Son, Jesus
through a woman whom He prepared at Her infancy, the Blessed Mother, Mary
as she is called was also created out of love.
His son named Jesus Christ, a human being is the Savior of the world.
It is His birthday we celebrate on CHRISTMAS DAY.
Egotistical as all artists, God ask that we too continuously respect and adore
His creation, the Son He sent for the redemption of the world.
